Just Deserts ....

Dear Members of Eastside At Crotched Mountain Condominium Association;

Since The BOD's no longer publish meeting minutes or timely meeting minutes, here is a synopsis of yesterday's meeting.

The "tradition" continues in 2017, with a Board of Directors that is not 'duly authorized'.  Whereas, in 2015, 3 Directors were voted to the Board after the previous BOD stepped down (because, they too, were not duly authorized) ...

The Bylaws require that when a position on the BOD is vacated (for any reason) that the individual voted either by the BOD or the Association be, for the remaining term of that vacated position. While the Board of Directors have made decisions, many times over the years to not replace a director mid-year between Annual Meetings, have 'just decided' to stay on the Board, have not stated remainder of terms for these 'elections' or basically just done what they want ... have done it, again!

Three BOD members "stepped down" in 2015 ... Three 'new' directors were elected ... terms were not established nor divulged. In 2016, a new BOD member should have been elected (according to the bylaws) but the BOD declared that that would not be done.

According to our bylaws, the BOD positions are for 3 years allowing for a new BOD position election every year ... staggered for a reason ... to prevent individuals from retaining 'unauthorized power'.

So, yesterday, the BOD ... "allowed" the members to vote one position to the Board. Two of the directors 'decided' to remain on the BOD for a third year.

Just imagine, Donald Trump 'deciding' to stay in power at the end of his term! The decisions of the BOD are not unlike The President's decision to rule by executive order...  "they are just doing what is best for the Association".

The BOD 'decided' not to put the 2017 Budget as sent to the members up for ratification or give the members an opportunity to reject the proposed budget as sent. They just announced what that the fees would be ... without giving the members a new budget to support it. When the BOD sent the budget to the members weeks prior to yesterday's Annual Meeting, they did not include a statement of the basis on which any reserves are calculated and funded. The BOD have just done, what 'they wanted' again.
By not rejecting the Budget as proposed ... we, all were 'TRICKED' into letting the "budget as proposed" ... go thru. The BOD told the owners that a special assessment would not be done ... contrary to the proposed budget ...

Members, we all will get our 'just deserts '... by allowing these atrocities to happen.

With heavy hearts, it was announced that a former BOD member has passed on to 'her
 great reward'.

The proposed amendments to the Bylaws of Eastside at Crotched Mountain Condominiums passed by votes of at least 51% of the association, votes and proxies according to the BOD.

It was discussed that this blog is disruptive to the association and that former neighbors and members of this association were "toxic"to the association. In light of their feelings, this blog will not send email notifications of new posts after today.  If someone wants to keep up with what is being posted, they must sign up for auto delivery for notification.  As for 'toxic' neighbors and former members, that is opinions of the BOD being passed on to the whole membership ...  as they have a right to their opinions.  Maligning others is a favored resource of our esteemed President Trump ... and 7th graders. In the end, the only opinion that matters is yours ... what you know to be true ... in your heart, your mind and your gut. We, at ECF are not interested in gossip, rumors or fallacies ... we substantiate all information as best we can, using Association published documents and first hand sources.

The state of the Association was blamed on legal fees ... legal fees accrued and approved by the BOD. Over $157,000.00 since 2003 ... over $130,000.00 of that just since 2013. It was refreshing to see the BOD take some responsibility.

So, cheers to Just Deserts!
